Paris, à deux

Ten days for a first-timer couple, routed like the metro map — one line, one neighbourhood, one mood per day. Real sightseeing, real adventure, no two days alike.

    Trip total, per person

    10-day total (vs €600 target)

Double it for two people. Accommodation isn't included — this is transport, tickets, activities and food only.

    Before you go

One pass for the whole trip

A Navigo Découverte weekly pass (~€30, zones 1–5) covers unlimited metro, RER and bus — including the trips out to Versailles and Vincennes — and works out cheaper than day tickets from about day 4 onward. Every "transport" line item below assumes you have one.

    Consider a museum pass

Between the Louvre, Orangerie, Arc de Triomphe, Sainte-Chapelle and Musée Picasso, a 4-day Paris Museum Pass (~€70) can beat paying per ticket if you're doing most of them — check the math against the optional items you actually plan to tick.

    Book ahead

The Catacombs, the Louvre and Versailles all sell timed entry online and all three sell out — the Catacombs first, often 2–3 weeks out.

    Pace yourself

Days 4 and 10 are deliberately light — ten days of full sightseeing back-to-back is how first-timers burn out by day 6. Use the slack to sleep in, or swap in Disneyland Paris or a Loire château day if that's more your speed.
